This place is in an excellent remote location, just a short walk away from New Plymouth and Taranaki, with the most amazing gardens and well-planned trails featuring animal sculptures with information panels.

the service was great with parking on-site. location: the hotel was right by perfect stop before-or-after the forgotten world highway, and an amazingly contorted bendy canyon.

I chose this hotel for attending a corporate retreat as it provided a conducive environment for hard work day after day. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, allowing me to focus on my work. The peaceful surroundings and beautiful gardens also provided a calming atmosphere for breaks and relaxation.
The only service that I missed for my work was the lack of a high-speed internet connection. Reliable and fast internet access would have been beneficial for staying connected and completing tasks efficiently.

I absolutely adored the beautiful South African-inspired decoration throughout the hotel. It made me feel like I was on a grand adventure in the heart of Africa, right in the comfort of my own room. The general areas were also incredibly cozy and inviting, with plush seating and warm lighting. As a senior woman, I also appreciated the hotel's accessibility. The pathways were well-maintained and easy to navigate, making it a breeze for me to explore and enjoy the stunning gardens.
If I had to ask for one thing to make the vacation even better for senior people like me, it would be to have a little more assistance from the young ones working there. Just a little extra help with carrying bags or offering a helping hand would have been greatly appreciated.

Gorgeous location surrounded by stunning gardens and peaceful surroundings. the hosts were warm and welcoming and provided excellent hospitality. the rooms were comfortable and equipped with everything necessary for preparing light meals. I particularly enjoyed discovering the many paths that led to amazing open spaces, gardens, and bridges that were dotted around the property. the best part was waking up to the sound of many birds echoing their song through the bush.
The blanket was a bit thin and I was a bit cold at night, but there was another one available that I could have used. It would have also been nice to have some extra wood to put in the burner at night, but I'm sure the hosts would've provided it if I had asked.

The attention to detail in the themed rooms was outstanding, providing a cozy and restful atmosphere. The grounds were a nature lover's paradise, with the sounds of birds and the peacefulness of the surroundings creating a truly tranquil experience. The African animal sculptures perfectly blended with the natural environment, adding a touch of exotic charm. The cleanliness and tidiness of the accommodation were impeccable, leaving no room for any complaints. The level of care and thoughtfulness in every aspect of my stay was truly remarkable, making this place a perfect choice for a luxurious and comfortable getaway.
I highly recommend this hotel to all my friends.

The location of this accommodation is truly remarkable, nestled in the midst of indigenous rainforest and surrounded by vibrant gardens. The presence of life-size African game animals adds a unique touch to the experience. Despite the remote location, the hosts go above and beyond to ensure guests have everything they need. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, with a cozy woodburner for chilly nights. The common sitting/lounge area and ample outdoor seating allow for relaxation and enjoyment of the beautiful surroundings.
The instant coffee provided in the rooms could be improved.
